AMPHIBIOUS ASSAULT VEHICLES (FIELD 18)

Learn about Amphibious Assault Vehicle roles in the Marine Corps.

All members of an Assault Amphibious Vehicle (AAV) crew perform duties to help with the operation and maintenance of the vehicle and upgunned weapons station. These Marines lead mechanized assault operations and operate amphibious vehicles during ship-to-shore amphibious landings. Education includes learning to handle, load, and fire large caliber guns and operate communications equipment.
